Though our wedding will take place in Spring Green, we recommend staying in Madison and taking the shuttle from the Concourse Hotel on the day of the wedding (details below).

Getting to Madison

If you're traveling to town for our wedding, first of all, thank you! It means so much that you're making the effort to be there. Madison has its own airport, MSN, which is easy to navigate and usually frictionless to depart from. If it's easier for you to fly into a larger airport, Milwaukee (MKE) and Chicago (ORD, MDW) are the nearest options. From there, you'll need to either rent a car or take a train or bus to Madison (about two hours from Milwaukee and three from Chicago).

Accommodations

Madison has lots of great options for lodging, including limited options on AirBnB and VRBO (we recommend looking at homes on the Isthmus, or the strip of land between lakes Menona and Mendota). We have also secured room blocks at local hotels (a few in Madison and two in Spring Green) in different price ranges:

Location: 1 W Dayton St, Madison

Deadline to Book: June 12

Rate: $229/night

The Concourse is in downtown Madison just a couple of blocks from the State Capitol, the weekend farmer’s market, and many shops, cafes, and restaurants.

To book: Call (800) 356-8293 to book and mention the Ashe-Hobson wedding or use the link below with group attendee code Ashe/Hobson Wedding.

The Graduate is a cool hotel about a 12-minute block west of the Concourse (appropriately closer to UW) in the hilly area of downtown Madison overlooking Lake Mendota.

To book: Call (608) 257-4391 to book and mention the Ashe-Hobson wedding.

Location: 1001 Wisconsin Place, Madison

Deadline to Book: May 29

The Edgewater is a historic, luxury hotel downtown, a few blocks from the Concourse, the Graduate, and Lake Mendota. We only have a few rooms here and the deadline is relatively early, so book fast if you’re interested!

Round Barn Lodge is located in Spring Green just a few minutes’ drive from Hilltop! It’s a great option for those who don’t plan to attend wedding events in Madison, and a solid bet for families with kids (there’s a pool and plenty of space outside to run around). Round Barn Lodge is not far from attractions like House on the Rock and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, however it is about 45 minutes’ drive from Madison—if you stay in Spring Green, we highly recommend renting a car.

To book: Call (608) 588-2568 and mention the Ashe-Hobson Wedding.

Location: 1130 North Johns Street, Dodgeville

Deadline to Book: June 11

Rate: $169/night for double queens or king room, $179/night for a suite

Dodgeville is about 20 minutes from the wedding venue in Spring Green. If you’re only planning on attending the wedding (versus events in Madison), this is a good budget option near Spring Green’s attractions. If you stay in Dodgeville, we highly recommend renting a car.

To book: Call (608) 935-7739 to book and mention Hannah and Jed’s wedding.

Transportation to events

The welcome party on the first day will be at the Elks Lodge in Madison proper. If you're able to make it, please check out your options and decide which is best for you between biking, walking, driving, or ridesharing. For the wedding, we will hire two buses to depart from the Madison Concourse Hotel at 3:30. The drive from Madison to Spring Green is on the longer side, so we encourage those driving to leave for the wedding a little earlier than they believe necessary! The shuttles will depart from the venue at 9:30, 10:30, and midnight. If you'd prefer to leave on your own schedule, you'll need to drive your own car (or rental) to and from Hilltop—there will be parking available at the event. Please be careful and only drive yourself home after the event if you feel safe doing so.
